Bedlington Miners Picnic 1960
We had a photographer for our wedding in 1969 at St John of Bedlington Station who we met when my future husband went to get measured for a suit for the wedding. He worked there and said he thought my husband maybe related to him. He told us he was doing photography and could take our wedding photos for a good price. Anyway the photo proofs which were only half a dozen were poor and were left with us to choose. He never returned so we had about four decent photos to celebrate the great day. I wonder what the young brides of today would think .

Sting -When The Last Ship Sails
Yes I always say to people when I go Down South you know that I'm not a Geordie I'm a posh Northumbrian. Ha Ha. Getting back to Sting and Jimmy Nail their concert was absolutely great I put on the subtitles and got the gist of the story easier Well done to Sting.

Bedlington Station Eyesore
I thought there was a law that if a property becomes so bad it becomes a danger the council can fix it but send the bill to the owner. Keep me right about this Malcom.

Tescos Again
Well I may be wrong but has the Clayton Pub broke the record for the amount of broken windows. I counted 14 the other day it may have more now though. Can anybody shed some light on Jakes Bar why it is a llowed to get more and more derelict and an eyesore. Is it because it's Bedlington Station? Morpeth would"t allow it. Come on Councillors answer the question

Tescos Again
I have been shopping in Blyth today and couldn't believe how it has gone down hill so much lately. Yes they have the new big Morrisons not like our sub standard one in Bedlington but their streets were disgraceful with fag ends and litter bins overflowing. The shops are boarded up on every corner . Woodcocks has gone .The furniture shop has gone .Ethel Austins has gone. What is happening we.ve only got charity shops surviving. Ashington is just as bad Mr Reid is correct to say Blyth is a dump and when are we all going to stand up to these councils who are blaming each other since they,ve set up the Parish Councils. The whole area is getting so down trodden it will be so hard to get it better again.

Resident Band @ The Top Club
I remember the top club they had to pull it down due to it being unsafe. It had some great nights there. The resident group Prism were excellent. I remember one new years day they had to stop the broth being served as they had cooked it in the boiler and it had gone rancid so no one could eat it everyone was so disappointed. Oh happy days.

Tescos Again
Has anyone got any updates regarding Tescos. It's gone very quiet. They have done exactly what everyone say they do buy up all the shops and then have the monopoly of the high street and then do nothing. Who is fighting for us at the moment or have we been forgotten. The Bedlington front street looks great at the moment with the new fronts been put on the shops but there are no decent shops now . No real reason to shop apart from food at Tescos which is exactly what they wanted. We are making do with a sub standard Morrisons and Tescos .

The Bleeza
I remember when you used to huddle round the fire as you were frozen down the back of you. You ran into the next room and ran back it was so cold no central heating, and all the women had mottled legs with being that close to the open fire. Those were the days.
-
The Bleeza
remember when the bleezer was so worn away that you put the newspaper over the worn out bits and of course you had to be ready for the flames to catch hold of the paper and push it into the fire otherwise it would try to burn the fireside rug.

Bedlington Weekly Market
i TOTALLY AGREE WITH TOM TOM. WHY DOES EVERYTHING THE COUNCIL STARTS DOES IT FINISH AS A RIGHT FARCE. wHY IS IT WE HAVE TO SUCCUMB TO CAR BOOT SALES .i AM SURE IT WOULD BE BETTER IF THEY JUST HOLD THEIR HANDS UP TO FAILURE AND ADMIT IT HASN'T WORKED. PLEASE STOP MAKING OUR STREETS A TIP.

The Lion Garage
I DO HOPE IT ISN'T AS WE SURELY NEED A DECENT GARAGE IN BEDLINGTON. WE HAVEN'T GOT MUCH ELSE. NO DECENT SHOPS JUST SMALL OUTLETS OF SUPERMARKETS LIKE MORRISONS AND TESCOS. NOT MUCH CHOICE IT IS ALL WE ARE GOOD FOR. PROMISED LOADS BUT NOTHING MATERIALIZES.
