Spot the difference.
His aim at the moment is to get his Ashington footy team back into the cup competition that they've been kicked out of for fielding an illegible player. An appeal to the FA is pending so Bedlingtons issues will have to go on the back burner while, just like an industrial dispute that took place thirty years ago, he "Fights for Justice"

Place Names
Are you sure it was made up Smudge? I heard from a good source that Ling managed to drop his Granny Kam off at the Dun Cow Quay and she opened the Kam Tong restaurant in Blyth. I was told that story from Someone who doesn't tell porkys in fact the same guy went on to become an MP. In the meantime think we better get back on course.

I would prefer to remember that as the Tescogate Scandal. They're still not answering when asked "did you sell the Gap Site, and if so where's the money" ?

Bedlington Conservation Area - is it stopping investment in the town center?
Pete, The Council must have double standards if the told you "Any changes would have to fit in with the Conservation Area Policy." Take a look a few yards further down the street and still within the Conservation Area to see what has been passed by the same people. I'm sure you and everyone else know the two sites that I refer to. If they say that they regard "Modern double glazing as an unacceptable change" then why have they given permission to an Estate Agent to remove three stone pillars and single windows from the former HSBC bank to be replaced with a Single Seventies style window to accommodate their advertising Bumf. You say you are Semi Retired so I'll assume you have plenty time on your hands to engage in any building work, we'll don't worry about meeting any deadlines, there's stiff competition here for who finishes last between the Builders of the two sites I mentioned. To be perfectly honest you probably wouldn't have a look in with these two. I heard a rumour recently that the building being erected on the former Elliots Garage Site will need re-wiring before its complete. (Brussels)

Holystone
Maggie, I wish some of the Buildings in Bedlington WOULD disappear, typical examples would be a Half built care home, and a Derelict School, followed by the current M P, the leader of NCC, and at least one of our County Councillors who shall remain unnamed, but he does not attend the Town Council Meetings and is commonly known locally as The Invisible Man.

Bedlington in a few years
Not a good idea Merc, I've already tried it and I went "Bust"

Bedlington in a few years
My main concern would be what could the planners allow next for the conservation area. We're already stuck with a Care Home, (part built after ten years) that nobody other than the developer wants and we're going to get apartments (eventually after ten years) that nobody other than the developer wants. NCC don't listen to the Bedlington people and looking at their past record we could end up with anything from a t*****s out Massage Parlour to Garden Allotments, the only thing we can be sure of is, if any money is realized from the sale of the Council Offices Site it Will end up in Ashington.

Bedlington Investment Petition
Can't imagine the local MP would want to sign it Reedy, he would prefer any available money to be channelled into Ashington. However there will be an announcement sometime in the near future about plans for Bedlington,..... could be this week.....just in time for an election.

Bedlington Investment Petition
Looking forward to that Adam,,but it appears to be Just in time for the election, I really don't know if these people are able to sleep at night, We've not seen the MP that represents Ashington during the last four years and he turns up now touting for votes. No matter which political party wins the votes in May the Bedlington folk need someone who will give them as much support as the Ashington folk have had from their MP this time around.
