It's strange how small things stick in your mind from 60 years ago.I remember your dad used to have the butchers van and delivered around the estates in the late 50's and early 60's. We lived 5, Coquetdale Place (near the Oval shops) and I hated salt on anything so it always seemed a treat when Ernie Gurney turned up and my mam would get me a bag of plain crisps (probably Smiths) with the little blue bag of salt in. 🙂 -

Photo from Bob Simmons - don't know what year but according to Ronnie Mordue on the Bates Colliery Facebook group :- Ronnie Mordue That stretch of the pit road flooded regularly.It still does,thought they would have improved the drainage or something before they built those new rabbit hutches. Bet the buyers weren’t aware of the flood risk. -

@george.atkinson. - names updated. I assume you have copies of the photos that you are on? The member - Bandsman1966 (Biff's son) that posted the photos hasn't visited the group since November 1st 2018. Any names I have added since Bandsman1966 visited have been from ex Netherton Colliery people that are members of the local Facebook groups. -
