Alan Hall, a member of the Barrington, Barnt' n memories and stuff!! Facebook group posted this :- I'm guessing it was the old dry midden toilet (normally at the bottom of the garden0. You used to carry a bucket of ashes when you visited said outhouse to cover whatever you had done. There was a big step up on to seat which had two large apertures and one small supposedly for kids. It was one of the last calls for the night soilman on a Saturday morning his cart was a large barrel sha ped wood structure with a lid that opened for him to do his cleansing operation he didn't have many spectators while he was working. The above photo was posed by Marylin Muter but she didn't say where it was from, and it does look a bit similar to the one's I have the yellow star above in the compilation photo.

@lynnewatson - there are two other photos, from around the same era, of the area that I can find so I have compiled them and added a few Id's. Your photo doesn't appear to show Clock House 🤷‍♂️ but it's probably just the angle from where it was taken - I think. What I am guessing is the outside loo & shed on your photo looks like it has been turned 180 degrees - but I'm not sure. @Canny lass might have some thoughts on the photos.

So is Britishvolt in talks with you @Symptoms. I saw the story on the local news, BBC1, on Monday and the only thing that cought my attention was the fact that they still don't know how to say the word 'Cambois' - it always comes out as 'Blyth'🤷‍♂️

Thanks @lynnewatson - excellent photo - I will do a comparison with the other old photos of the area as I see in the ones you have just posted Bridge House, on the East of the Furnace Bridge looks the same, but the the buildings on the West look different. I can't see the Clock house and Rose Cottage, that @Canny lass researched. I'll make a compilation of the old photos and post it.

@sallywoo1971 - naturally there have been a few milkmen over the years that Bedlington folk can remember from the 1950's through to the 21st century. The Bygone Bedlington FB group reckon the surname you are looking for is - Burke. This is a couple of the replies to the question I asked on the Bygone Bedlington group :-

Whilst looking through the Facebook Villageguides group on Bebside I spotted some info, nothing new as far as I can see, but just confirmation of what has already been said by @Canny lass

@Harvs72 & @Canny lass there is a site, on Facebook, called 'Villageguides' and the Admin have worked there way around many of the local towns and villages. I have no ide who runs it and where they get there info and photos; I have asked but never had a response There is a section on Bebside with a little bit of info, and a photo, of the school at the far west end of Front Street. Unfortunately no info or image on the other school. This is the info and photo :- This is the Villageguides photo + the one of those from the Blyth Remembered Facebook group and a Google street view image of the building now :-

There are five photos of 'the old' Bebside posted on the Blyth remembered Facebook group but no comments to help identify any buildings in the photos or which direction, ie. East or West, the camera was pointing 🤷‍♂️. So I have had a go at guessing some of the buildings. One photo with info from Bob Simmons and the four photos, one with some text added by Bob Simmons and three with no info than ; Four individual photos, one with a bit of info added by Bob Simmons :- I've then put the four photos on one sheet :- Then added the four photos onto the map @Canny lass posted :- I've then done some guessing on the compilation photo :-
