  1. I actually agree! it is a shame. There's a fine line between Graffitti and Art. Something thats been there for so long as Graffitti, and has had no complaints, should have been left alone in my eyes. Then again, perhaps someone complained?? Myself, i liked it. I think it should have stayed.
  2. no, i mean a reputation point on this site. You may have noticed in the bottom right corner of the post theres a 1 now, and your reputation is increaced by one point
  3. Ref: Cympils pic: Do you know if anyone is identified in the picture? It brought back memories for my mother, who is convinced she is on the tin horse in the foreground! She also asks, is that North Row?
  4. Definatly worth a rep! :D
  5. I personally think the 20 acre site, and the football fields from there to west lea should remain as-is. Theres more than enough land to build one if you demolish tesco and build onto the waste land. Either that or move the place oppisite Netto's to the elliots garage/terrier site and build it there.
  6. Any idea who it is who's taken it?
  7. I remember having a Hot Beef sandwich there a few times. I remember it being fairly priced too. It was Beautiful!
  8. I have been to the place i describe, i'm just not sure what its actually called. It is possible its called something completly different, and Whiskeys is elswhere. i never really took much notice. Keep forgetting i need to be clearer for those members who are 'challanged'
  9. If someone is gonna put a poll on, at this moment in time, mark me down for the Wharton and the Grapes. It seems there the only two i go too in any great numbers now. When i'm in Bedlington that is.
  10. If i'm right, its down the road from the northumberland arms, before you get to best bite, on the same side. More precicely, nearer the music shop. But then again, i may be wrong!
  11. Not a bad plan!!!
  12. Whiskeys always gave me great service, so i'll probably pop in sometime soon. Who's Zoe? a local lass?
  13. Funny how openoffice is supposed to be fully compatible, yet will not show it correctly?
  14. Do you have access to some way of uploading them? i'm sure they would bring back some memories for some of us
  15. Double Row was part of the Pit Rows, which were demolished some time ago. On a modern map, they were where the new police station stands.
  16. Mines the same, formatting is all over the place. Is it not available as a PDF??
  17. if we are proactive enough to tell Tesco exactly what we will use (which differs from what we want!) they will have a much more informed basis to decide whether the space will be best developed into 'Tesco' supplied space, or sold off to 3rd party's to create smaller shops specialising in non-food, leaving Tesco to wipe up the food based market. That was my point. If we say nothing at all, then we cant complain when Tesco decides for us.
  18. I've just mentioned this idea to my nephew and a few of his friends whom regularly knock a ball around the football pitches at the back of west lea, and they'd LOVE a crazy golf course! I'm sure one could be constructed strong enough to withstand moderate vandalism, fairly cheeply. Perhaps just adding 3-4 holes to start, just as a test case, and adding more if it becomes popular? It would have to be free of course!
  19. What a load of twaddle! If we can prove there is a need for development, and hand it on a silver platter to Tesco, of course they will take notice. Having said that, it could also put the last nail in the coffin if there is no support. A test case is the "bring back westlers hamburgers" at asda. They stopped selling them for a while, but a small petition from a few customers demanding its return to sale proved to do just that, resulting in the store manager emailing ASDA house asking for Blyth store to be re-stocked. It wasn't a case of asda not selling it anymore, more that Blyth was considered a smaller store, so some lines were cut. We need to start shouting about what we want, and having opinions like the one quoted is putting you in the same bracket as Monsta!
  20. Why not start a facebook petition to show how much bedlington residents support the Tesco Expansion into the old co-op building? It worked for the christmas lights!
  21. I wasn't starting, mearly pointing out the thread title. How can you have a serious discussion about the towns needs with a title like that and the sense of humour most of us have? it'll never be taken seriously. If its to be discussed, i believe it should be done so seriously, not tongue in cheek, or you'll get nowhere. Just my 2 cents.
  22. Perhaps people don't want to contribute to something thats started off in such a negative manner. Had the optional second topic title not been there, people may have taken it a little more seriously. That was the reason i never got involved. Dunno what others opinions are.
  23. I totally agree. Some people (i know at least 1) dont send cards on occasions such as birthdays, weddings, christmas etc. This person(s) dont activly spout out about the prices of cards, or the lack of a need for a card shop on the front street. Just because you personally would not use a service is no reason to argue the lack of a need for it. there's alot of lard-ar$es sitting around that would never use a leisure center and believe this to be a waste of money. same thing? Somewhere nice to go out too, that does not involve pizza or chips, where you can sit down and have a meal prepared for you and no dishes to wash is definatly not a bad thing. Nore is a nice friendly pub where you can go for a pint, a cheeper pub (like wetherspoons) where you can get a pint for less. We need to be discussing the good points, not the negative ones, and actually suggest things we want FOR the town (ie. McDonnalds thread), and supporting these ideas, not dissing whats already here!
  24. I've heard it needs to be there 6 weeks before the 'finnishing' is done, which includes leveling via a big sanding leveler and the pointing completed, alot like the terrazzo flooring found in supermarkets. Dunno how true that is tho.
  25. Excellent Point! No! Its one of the main reasons we come here
