Did Dan Aykroyd Save The Day?
I remember Steve Guttenberg crashing his hang-glider in Sheepwash, but your Dan Aykroyd story is ringing no bells, MissVic.

Terriers Go For A Nap
Best bit of so-called "terrace wit" I heard was one cold night at Croft Park. Blyth Spartans were giving Consett an awful beating and the Blyth Ultras, chaps you wouldn't expect to be familiar with the musical "Evita", started singing "Don't cry for me Consett keeper!"

Good Jokes: Not For The Faint-Hearted (Adult content)
Now, I'll admit that the following short film presentation isn't, strictly speaking, a joke. However, it is amusing, so please allow me a little slack.

Hi, I'm The New Land Lady At The Dun Cow
Hello there. I'm no great expert on pubs myself, I'm more of a quiet glass of wine at home person. Two things that do tend to play well with the town's drinkers: Cheap beer and good-looking barmaids. You are right, though. Bedlington, as a drinking destination, does appear to be on the skids. Also, the isolated location of the Dun Cow means that you will get very little passing, "pub crawl" trade. Traditionally, I think the clientele is mainly people who live in the adjacent estates down that end of the town. Keep a good pint, look after your regulars and get/keep as many darts/pool/football teams as possible going. Good luck with it.

I'm going to have to disagree with you here, Pete. Firstly, I don't think the Town will score -2 goals. Secondly, I have a feeling in my bones that they are going to WIN. There, I've said it. I'm off for a lie down in a darkened room.

- Loathe: The Pool Table In The North
Proof positive that this is the site that gets things done. New cues at the north, hot and cold running blue chalk and the pocket has been fixed. The board still has a slope and the cloth is still threadbare but let us not quibble, this is a RESULT for the forces of decency in our town. Hats off to all concerned.- You Can't Even Give It Away...

Just two days to go. Let the blippin and a-bloppin' electro mayhem commence!- Global Warming
Are you denying that global warning is happening or merely stating that the efforts being made to try to reverse it are futile? We've already had a major effect on the Earth's climate. Is it so crazy to attempt to put things right? The government are spending an absolute fortune on cleaning hospital wards. As for the drug situation, I didn't realise we had a solution to this, if only the politicians would spend the money. What are they like, eh?- Global Warming
Come on Al Gore, never mind that environment tommyrot, when is Bedlington getting a youth club, eh? Eh?- Prediction
A spot of reverse psychology, eh? You're a crafty old dog, Pete. 2-1 to the Toon.- Good Jokes: Not For The Faint-Hearted (Adult content)
