What surprises me is that even without all of these facilities, we have the likes of Humford woods around the corner and some lovely walks in the area yet when I have the dogs down there I will be lucky if I see 1 or 2 people in the space of a couple of hours! But then again they do say that if your not scared to be in the woods you are the one scaring people away. Anything to improve the facilities in the area on this sort of venture definitely gets the thumbs up for me. I keep saying that I should do some more exercise but I refuse to travel to go and play football due to the price of fuel etc so facilities around the corner with perhaps a 5-a-side power league ran daily would definitely be a hit. There are plenty of the little buggers playing outside Tesco against the shop fronts so they could put their energy to good use and play as a team away from the roads. The closest place to us for a proper 5-a-side league must be Gosforth Park, I used to travel and play in a league in Eldon Square but simply can't afford to travel those distances a couple of times a week.

Personally my use the English language varies dependent on the company I am keeping. e.g. I probably swore quite a bit on Saturday night in the company of my own home with mates around but I knew in advance that people would not take offence to my choice of words and likewise I would not have been offended by whatever it was that they had to say. If I were to be sitting in the presence of strangers or people that I was not to familiar with then I would adjust my language and my dialect so that I could be understood and polite. Like has previously been said, the words that are 'taboo' have their place in the English language but as and when people choose to use them is the key fact here I think. If I were to swear or say something inappropriate (bearing in mind that there are a lot of people that don't appreciate my humour and could take offence quite easily at times) I would appreciate that they said something to me so that I was aware I had offended as I clearly have mis-judged my company and I don't like upsetting people. My argument in this case however was not whether I approve of the use of foul language or not or what I personally think of people who decide to use such language in public but merely that someone has been prosecuted for the use of foul language on the internet. Surely if this is a civil matter it is the responsibility of the person that the abuse is directed at to want to press charges for it to be deemed an offence? or is the use of any abusive language on the interwebs whether directed at a councillor or MP not acceptable and a prosecutable offence regardless? Either way I don't agree with the governments, police or politicians ability to dictate what we are and aren't allowed to say on any website. You better watch what your saying Merlin

nothing wrong with being unshaven, doesn't necessarily mean that they would use foul language or be blatantly rude. More to the point that people are subject to abuse every day but because it is logged in a conversation in written text in the vastness of the internet that it should be deemed a criminal offence. The government have already proved that they will sign up to telecommunications companies filtering our boobies for us so that we don't have to pay attention to our children on the internet, next will be all foul language and then anything thought provoking. I repeat, yet again that any kind of censorship is a bad thing in what is supposed to be a free and open forum such as the internet. I can remember standing in pubs when it was acceptable to tell racist jokes so it will take more than a bit of condem politics to rid bars and everyday general life, especially the internet, of any foul language or obscenities. There is a cultural difference in age ranges where someone of late 70's finds it perfectly acceptable to use derogative racist language deemed acceptable in their time but they wouldn't dream of swearing yet the likes of the words used on twitter appear to be more socially acceptable to younger ones these days but would find racism more unacceptable in the eyes of the law. They think that someone calling a councillor a !*!@# is bad on twitter yet I have read stronger opinions about the powers that be which go unpunished. Are the swear police going to be sitting trawling forums for any foul and abusive language to mein fuhrer sitting in parliament dishing out orders whilst they feed their ducks on hovis which we paid for?!?! They're all a bunch of pencil pushing !*!@# !*!@# !*!@# barstewards !!

If you contact one of the administrators with what you would like it to be changed to, they should be able to do this for you There must be somewhere that can provide sufficient premises for your requirements. Keep at it.

Glad to see the football community pulling together on this and the support for Muamba in last nights game looked astounding. Good news on him making a recovery and hopefully he makes a full recovery. Can't see him playing for Bolton again though which is a real shame at only 23.

Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed and stopped breathing during the FA Cup fifth-round tie against Tottenham. Medics spent 10 minutes trying to resuscitate the 23-year-old on the field after he fell to the ground with no other players around him. BBC Radio 5 live's Ian Dennis says the former England Under-21 international is fighting for his life. The score was 1-1 when the match was abandoned after 41 minutes. Medical staff gave Muamba mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and tried to revive him with a defibrillator. In total six medics were treating the player. Both sets of supporters chanted Muamba's name as he was taken off the pitch on a stretcher. ESPN, who were broadcasting the match, reported that he was not breathing as he was taken into the tunnel. Well we managed to ditch the kids last Saturday and venture in for some lunch in the afternoon. I had the fish cakes with home made tartare sauce and they were delicious, Miss Brettly had the beef and horseradish sarnie which was nice too (I sampled that). Home made chips with my fish cakes were gorgeous....could have eaten those by themselves. Sticky toffee pudding and warm chocolate brownie for pudding to finish it off. mmmmmm Will definitely be going back on an evening to try the al a carte menu. The prices are really reasonable for the quality of the food and would recommend it to people.
