  1. Ah well, I have another paper for the fire now.
  2. Bolton Wanderers midfielder Fabrice Muamba collapsed and stopped breathing during the FA Cup fifth-round tie against Tottenham. Medics spent 10 minutes trying to resuscitate the 23-year-old on the field after he fell to the ground with no other players around him. BBC Radio 5 live's Ian Dennis says the former England Under-21 international is fighting for his life. The score was 1-1 when the match was abandoned after 41 minutes. Medical staff gave Muamba mouth-to-mouth resuscitation and tried to revive him with a defibrillator. In total six medics were treating the player. Both sets of supporters chanted Muamba's name as he was taken off the pitch on a stretcher. ESPN, who were broadcasting the match, reported that he was not breathing as he was taken into the tunnel. Referee Howard Webb called the visibly shaken players off the field after consulting with Bolton manager Owen Coyle and Tottenham boss Harry Redknapp. Minutes later the match was abandoned. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17417973 Christ. Thoughts out to his family and hope he makes a recovery. Got to be something wrong collapsing at that age.

  6. A little boy goes to his father and asks 'Daddy, how was I born ?' The father answers, 'Well, son, I guess one day you will need to find out anyway! Your Mom and I first got together in a chat room on Yahoo. Then I set up a date via e-mail with your Mom and we met at a cyber-cafe. We sneaked into a secluded room, and googled each other. There your mother agreed to a download from my hard drive. As soon as I was ready to upload, we discovered that neither one of us had used a firewall, and since it was too late to hit thedelete button , nine months later a little Pop-Up appeared that said: 'You got Male!'
  7. Hi and welcome to the forum, I see that you are going to fit in quite nicely
  8. Well there isn't a picture on the Sunday Sun website. http://www.sundaysun.co.uk/news/mr-justice-consumer-advice/2012/03/11/west-sleekburn-hgv-driver-has-to-wait-for-compensation-79310-30501066/
  9. Well we managed to ditch the kids last Saturday and venture in for some lunch in the afternoon. I had the fish cakes with home made tartare sauce and they were delicious, Miss Brettly had the beef and horseradish sarnie which was nice too (I sampled that). Home made chips with my fish cakes were gorgeous....could have eaten those by themselves. Sticky toffee pudding and warm chocolate brownie for pudding to finish it off. mmmmmm Will definitely be going back on an evening to try the al a carte menu. The prices are really reasonable for the quality of the food and would recommend it to people.
  10. I too would have suggested the Black Bull and the owners are members of the forum here so you can contact them directly on their profile. http://www.bedlington.co.uk/community/user/2882-black-bull-bedlington/ I also really like the idea of the group as a whole. Will you accept members who only come to eat cake and don't cook anything
  11. Please let us all know Pennylane
  12. Perhaps it was the large stash of 1950's photographic equipment he was trying to get through customs.
  13. Apparently reception on 87.7FM runs out at benton cat & dog shelter on the way up to four lane ends :-)
  14. Hello Cyril Welcom to the site
  15. After a quick chat with one of the work men today on my way past apparently it is being turned into commercial offices. Not sure if these are like the enterprise park rent-a-space offices or offices for one company.
  16. The council closed the place because they were running the place at a loss and from what I hear couldn't see past the end of their noses for better ideas for the place. Glad that the night went well and a venue in Bedlington being used for the purposes intended.

I've personally noticed a decrease in the number of cars that appear to be heavily modified and hanging around in car parks to 3 and 4 years ago. May be the price of fuel, people having more sense or police clamping down on anti-social behaviour in and around car parks throughout the north east. Still get the odd one that will drive like a tool however.

  23. Turns out you can get parked right outside right next to the crossing on those zig zag white lines no bother in the morning
  24. I don't think it has been sold but I do remember someone saying that there is a new tenant due to move in there but they couldn't say who the tenant was or the premise of the business. Figured when they replaced the sash where the old cash machine was that it was the case.
