  1. Thank you John most helpful. Cheers
  2. One law for them and another for us always has been and always will be :dribble:
  3. No we don't Malcolm
  4. Give me half his salary and I'd do his job, not saying I'd do a better job, but, I'd make a few of the bxxxxxxds jump! :dribble:
  5. Sizsells, neighbours have already had a word with this person but to no avail! John and Cympil, I have read your link to NCC Env Health. Interesting stuff. IF they are registered! But surely the POLIS would be wise to this information, but it seems not in Bedlington COP SHOP. THE most unhelpful person on the desk when I phoned. As I say the NCC site was interesting and I am now armed to the teeth with gen for my next phone call to the cop shop. Cheers people. By the way the alarm has just started again :dribble:
  6. Enough is enough! Should this be in Chat Central? I don't know, but, here goes. What do you do when a house alarm is doing your head in? Well you may ask, do you phone the police? Yes! Seems like a good idea! NOT! I've been informed by the polis that they no longer respond to house alarms! What if this alarm has been going since 22nd Dec? Still not a good idea to phone the polis, nowt they can do! Householder has been told every time they leave for a vacation within fifteen minutes the bloody alarm goes off until they come back, have they done anything about it, eeeeeerrrrrrrrr NOPE! As I say this bloody alarm has been going since the 22nd of Dec. When told by polis that there was nothing they can do I offered my services and was told "If anything happens to the alarm box I will be arrested". At least I'll get some peace was my reply, did not go down well with PC plod. There is a number for Newcastle Civic Centre for house alarms but you'll not believe this... Nobody answers OOOOOOOOhhh! Right if the Polis don't respond to house alarms, WHAT IS THE BLOODY POINT OF HAVING THE DAMN THINGS! AND is this not a case of DISTURBING THE PEACE! Even the number on the box was useless "Are you the householder" NO! Then I'm sorry sir I can't help you! Cooncillors on here, have you any provisions for such cases, because I can't find any, there must be something people can do, this can not be allowed to happen, it's just not right! This person has probably had a nice peaceful Christmas while the residents of North Ridge and Ridge Terrace have had to put up with an alarm going off for 6 days. As for the un co-operation of the polis, well, I hope they have a peaceful New Year! NOT! By the way the Damn thing is still going as I speak
  7. Although I tend to agree with Malcolm on this one, you have to be aware that we are approaching the cooncil silly season, when all surplus monies have to be got rid of or else they lose it off their next budget. This is when things pop up out of the blue and usually makes you think Like them stupid white barriers down the Band Stand car park, where entry and exit is now downright dangerous, incidentally why have the cooncil used an angle grinder to dispose of the locking mechanism? Let us all try to think of something downright stupid that Bedlington doesn't need and see how many pop up in the next few month! Just to start us off:- Turnstiles on the subway, top of Glebe Road!
  8. Small business's in this town and others are faced with astronomical overheads, what with greedy landlords and greedy cooncils, who seem to think just because you want to open a shop, they have the right to fleece you because you must have money to want to open a shop in the first place! Wrong! Many people just want to earn an honest crust and don't have aspirations of grandeur. Is it any wonder that many fail within the first year? I worked for somebody who had a shop on the front street, over a grand a month in rent plus electric plus insurance plus cooncil rates plus wages and had to deliver a fair price to the public, and a cooncil he had to fight because he had the audacity to want to put a sign up on the front of his shop, no such problems for Tesco there, eh! People need help to open a shop so that they can pay their bills and to be able to offer a fair price for their goods as well as being able to live! This help should not stop with new business's but should include existing business's also. If we want to shop in Bedlington for all our needs then we should be encouraging people to set up, not pricing them out of the market before they even start! But there again we've got Tesco Haven't WE so WHY BOTHER :dribble:

    Xmas No 1

X Factor! Absolutely splendid! What a laugh. Cowell and co are so far up themselves and so far detached from real life, they don't realise how transparent they are! A bit like our local government boys! No! I'm wrong there, the whole political system should be included in that! :dribble:
  11. Tez sorry I missed ya birthday, but I hope you had a good day!

  15. Good one Andy, many moons ago nearly got yukked off the site for calling someone Richard Heed :dribble:
  16. Once again thank you to Tez, Pete, John and Brian cheers! I am working in Materials Handling and to tell the truth I was dreading being put on the production line! I did my trials there and there were doubts in my mind as to whether I could do this full time, but would have done it anyway, as it turned out I worried needlessly. The electric Leaf goes on sale in Japan and America next year, but, production in Washington is not expected to start for a few years. They are in the process of building a battery plant at Washington, to supply the Leaf with batteries. Tez if any employer tells you that you are too old report them, as it is illegal to discriminate against age. Don't give up hope, I'm 47 and there were a lot more older than me trying to get a job at Nissan and a few succeeded! If you can do the job and show it Nissan will try to help you regardless of age! The battery plant I mentioned goes into production early next year and there are in excess of 350 jobs on offer and Nissan are recruiting now. You can apply through the job centre or you can apply direct to Nissan (advert in chronicle) The best way I think is through the job centre as they and Nissan help to prepare you for the tests you do to get into Nissan. If you apply direct you are on your own! Thanks again and good luck to you all for the future and A VERY MERRY CHRISTMAS TO YOU ALL! Am chuffed Cheers :dribble:
