Petty Vandalism
Yes. I live on the Main Street and most weekends after kicking out time there's at least a few idiots shouting, fighting and trashing the place. It used to be there would be a couple of police cars patrolling the street at this time, does this not still happen? I don't recall seeing any.

7 Sins @ The Market Tavern
until
7Sins was born in 2006 and the band has built a solid reputation for delivering dynamic, engaging, guitar orientated classic and modern rock, mixing well-loved pub rock anthems and iconic hits.Fronted continously by Bill for almost 10 years, our 2015 line-up is otherwise all-new, featuring Paul, Colin and John, previously the band behind "Tony Liddle and The Electric Warriors". We've always been told by landlords and music lovers we're "one of the best bands we've seen here"..... and we're glad to say this trend has continued with the new line-up - judge for yourself, of course. We don't aim to educate, you should know 90% of the tunes in the set, and whilst there may be better players out there, with a great frontman, soaring vocals, twin guitars and a solid rhythm section, you'll hear great tunes that help the beer go down played with passion, expertise, flair and a lot of smiles. Our PA is one of the best you'll hear on the pub and club circuit, and we carry an impressive lightshow..... Let The Sin Begin......... -

I totally agree with you that public money should not be used to 100% subsidise private business @moe19 I think Wetherspoons has shown that it is viable however and may become attractive to big brewers as part of a larger development.- Latest on Tesco site development
I have to agree with @_pauls You can have fifty pubs but if they don't have "kerb appeal" people won't use them. Yes it's a generalisation of people's likes and dislikes but it's changing behaviours. The typical local boozer format doesn't seem very successful anymore. The only ones doing well are ones that offer exceptional food, location and service or at least a combination of two of these. The ridge farm was exceptional in its day but got old and was never able to successfully rejuvenate itself. A brewers fayre type format would offer people something new on their doorstep and a familiar modern offering.- BedFest 2017
