  1. The amount of emergency vehicles were 2 fire engines, 2 fire and rescue vans, 1 police car and three ambulances, a recovery truck was there and an Arriva support van as well.

Don't know how it happened as  the car was in the back right hand side of the bus near the back tyres.

Can't think how it happened as well as it was past the entrance the Windsor Gardens about in line with the war memorial but i heard it was two cars and a bus but i only saw one car and the bus.

  2. Yes the farmer, I'm suprised they are opencasting the site as it is very small, Shame it is not the other side of the road we could have had a cycle track and bridge put in as part of the restoration with no cost to the tax payer.

  3. I have just heard that Tony Benn has died after a long illness, though I did not agree with some of his ideas, He was one of only a few MP's who stood up in parliament and represented his constituents and support working class people.

As the son of an former miner I agree with his support in the 84-85 miners strike for the miners to try and stop the pit closure program.

He was one of a few good MP's, true politicians and a true socialist, He will be missed.

  4. Was reading todays news post leader and found that UK coal are planning on opencasting the site.

Public information exhibitions are being held on Tuesday 18th March and Wednesday 19th March 2013 at The Dales School, Cowpen Road, Bebside, NE24 4RE, between 4pm and 8pm.  Representatives from UK Coal Surface Mines Ltd will be present to discuss draft proposals and give local residents the opportunity to share their views.

Here is a document I found on UK coal's website detailing what they are planning:

There is also a dedicated email address which has been set up should you have any queries or comments: bebside@ukcoal.com

  5. Too many jobs have been lost in the area over the last few years I can count easily at least 1000 jobs lost from major employers (Alcan closing, Woolworths going bust, Focus going bust,) not to mention the local shops and pubs (Spend and save, HSBC, Movies/JJ's, The Top Club and many other) all leading to job loses adding to the dole and meaning even bigger and bigger companies have to fill the gap, Akzonobel and Bernicia Homes are welcome but I don't think we will ever see unemployment come down to a low level as there is nothing to offer large employers here, no cheap energy, low business rates, not even a good transport link.

  6. Question: If Scotland votes in favor, does the British Government then sell RBS (Royal Bank of Scotland) to the Scottish government for the value it was balded out for plus interest?

Or Sell RBS back into the private sector and all toxic assets of RBS are handed over to the Scottish government?

    It is only fair.

  7. Talk about adding insult to injury for those whose lives she destroyed (miners, Hillsborough Victims and their families and people who generally did not like her) if we are going to have a bank holiday named after someone should it not be someone who helped create a the nation of Great Britain (Military heroes, Industrialists, etc.) not someone who divided it.

    I have an Idea:

    Daniel Gooch Day

    Celebrate a Bedlington Lad.
