  1. 'OLD' Lockey has a hankering that it might be a bike shed! Is 'OLD' Lockey on the right lines, Mr Foxy Fox Fox.
  2. It's up near White Leas - past the Ridge Farm. (Some kind of sub-station thingy)
  3. I remember Marcus Price, Maggie, I got a lot of togs there. Here's a photo - next to Jeavons at the Toon.
  4. Cheers Orloff, I remember the old Rediffusion shop at Vulcan Place but not a music shop. It might sound silly but I have very little memory of things before about 8 yrs old. The problem me and my bro are having is that neither of us can remember my mother buying records!!! But the records we had were new releases!! So where was she getting them from? I can't imagine my mother going out and buying a Stones record either! It's baffling us.
  5. So SAFC will be invading Poland tomorrow!
  6. Cheers, Pete, I can't remember the shop - I was born in 1956 - and didn't start buying records until the late sixties early seventies but I'll ask around and see if others can remember the shop.
  7. The other Keith mentioned this on The Oval Shops site, but he said it just sold instruments. I honestly can't remember Milne House selling them but others can. But we had loads of sixties top ten 45's so my mother must have bought them somewhere - in Bedlington presumably!
  8. I've just realised I would have the same feelings towards Gordo that I have towards Maggie. I loathe both. I'm living in a democratic society and I don't trust any political party. As I say, a rock and a hard place.
  9. Blair and Brown, if I'm not wrong. It seems to go with the job.
  10. That's the point I'm making, Ex, but if you read on...It eventually took her own party members to get rid of her. It's a bit of a polemic when a PM is voted in by the populace...who a vast amount eventually turn out to hate her...then her own party does an Ides of March on her. She must have crossed the Rubicon at some stage! But I reiterate, never before have i witnessed so much hatred towards a British PM. People can put rose-tinted glasses on if they wish, but the facts are that Maggie is hated by many and she was ditched by her own colleagues. The end of her reign wasn't exactly a triumph of democracy!
  11. Oh of course, Malcolm, I slap my wrist.
  12. It is a weird thing - regarding respect / disrespect of Margaret Thatcher's demise, because I have never known so much hatred towards a British PM. What do outsiders make of all this. Someone in another country is seeing people in England celebrating her death; they see people having street parties. Doesn't this tell you something about how a vast amount of people, here, feel towards this woman. She was our prime Minister and yet she was / is loathed by many. How the **** did she ever last three terms? What happened to democracy? If the people hated her so much then how did she last so long? It eventually took her own party members to get rid of her but her legacy rolls on with the present government. It just makes you wonder why we vote at all. Labour is a waste of time, thanks to Gordo, so who else is there to vote for? No one. The term a rock and a hard place springs to mind.
  13. You can handle a big'un, Keith.
  14. I actually, honestly thought Scargill had died!!! (Did he have a stroke or something?)
  15. Right on both accounts, Symptoms, my apologies. My bro mentioned Milne House, but I was too young to remember. I didn't think they would sell singles, though!!!
  16. Right, please, help. When me and my bro were about ten yrs old we used to listen to Elvis Presley,The Beatles and the Rolling Stones on an old Danzig? (Wooden Heart, Help & Get off of my cloud, etc,) as well as a host of others like Shrimp Boats and Tower of Strength. Now we were obviously too young to buy records so that means my mother must have bought them. BUT where would she have bought 45s in Bedlington? Can anyone help on this one. Cheers.
  17. OKAY, VARMINTS, WHAT CONNECTS THESE.
  18. Is that a three and a half inch flabby he's trying to insert into the disc drive?
  19. I was at Morpeth with Maria today and we saw a quaint thing - some of the shops had old photos in the window showing you what the shop looked like decades and decades ago.
  20. Why Maggie T wont get into Heaven... GOD'S WORD® Translation (©1995) My Father's house has many rooms. If that were not true, would I have told you that I'm going to prepare a place for you? She'll tax God on all those rooms. (And yes I know it says mansions in other versions.)
  21. She may be dead but her party is still in power.
  22. Well done that man. Yes, they were Parkinson's first guests, along with Ray Belisario, a photo-journalist, but I didn't think anyone would get him. I hope you're not expecting a prize! I'm plum tuckered out. Good one Keith.
  23. WHAT 'FIRST' DO THESE TWO SHARE? Think tv rather than sport.
  24. Oops, sorry, Keith, got Jenkins from something else, somehow. Thanks for correcting me.
