The live chat active users list will show people active in there in the last 60 minutes (changing to 10 shortly) so even if you are not currently in chat if you have been in the last 60 minutes you will still show. If you definately haven't been in chat at all then it may be a bug, I'll check it out in any case.

Sounds like outgoing connections are being blocked. Did you get a popup at some point asking whether you should allow or block outgoing connections?

Location - Market Place Club Doors open at 7pm with the evening’s entertainment starting from 8pm. The event is set to include acoustic rock band Athena’s Child, disco and dancing, prize raffles and other entertainment. Tickets are available on the door at a cost of £2.50 each, with all proceeds going towards the Friends of Gallagher Park, in support of local community projects.

Good find. Bedlington History expert Evan Martin may be able to give us a bit more information. There's a Bedlington Heritage Open Day on September 10 at the community centre (more information on the calendar). I shall make it a point to bring up.

Do you know of any ex-Bedlingtonians who've gone on to fortune and fame? Excluding Harry Potter of course.Has anybody had any luck spotting the Perseid shower? This year is supposed to be a good year for it with about 90 an hour at the peak. I wasn't out long last night but did manage to spot one. Weather wasn't ideal.No to both questions. I recently watched a program "The Speaker" I think it was called which was looking for Britain's best young speaker. As part of their "training" they spoke at Speakers Corner in Hyde Park and far from rebellion it appeared to be quite constructive. When somebody mentioned to me the other day that nobody knew when or for what purpose the Market Cross was built, I thought it may have been some sort of public speaking pedestal.Anybody want to take up the challenge of initiating the Market Cross as Bedlington's new speaker's corner?
