Problems with webcam?
A bit of both. It’s surprisingly popular so maintaining multiple streams on a single connection causes problems elsewhere. I’m trying to find a suitable service that will redistribute the feed that isn’t cost prohibitive.

Thomas Glassey Arrives in Bedlington
Extract from the book "Some men, Murders and Mysteries of Old Bedlington" by Evan Martin. THOMAS GLASSEY —1844-1936 When people talk of living a full life there cannot be a better example of the ideal than Thomas Glassey. He lived 92 years and it is difficult to imagine even one of them being mundane. Glassey wasn't Bedlington born. He arrived here with his wife in 1867, a young man of radical principles, via Northern Ireland and the Scottish coalfield.

Nothing I can tell has really changed since the last time the plans were presented to the public but they look good to me. I hope there's a concerted effort to attract new traders however as without that it's likely just to lead to a game of musical chairs with existing shops moving around. If there's a sudden influx of new businesses already lined up though then it could be a good kick up the backside and encourage bigger footfall.- Bedlington........Dying On Its A..e

It may be slightly exaggerated but I think Moe does have a point about bank holidays in Bedlington. During the day and evening I don't see much of an issue ( I still think it's worse than some other areas on Bank holidays) as it's policed quite well. Yes, there are fights, people throwing up and people generally being idiots but I'd say the majority are just out for a good day/night. The issues I see happen after closing time when the police presence seems to disappear. It's at this time up until around 3am you get the smashed shop windows, bus shelters, bins thrown about the place and flower beds ripped up. There should be more of an effort to disperse people from the town centre after closing time in my opinion.- Bedlington........Dying On Its A..e

- Bedlington FC Vipers crowned Filey Cup Champions (again!)
Well done Vipers! 👍- Problems with webcam?
I've brought back a static image feed for now. The camera is quite popular even just amongst members so the video feed isn't sustainable with the current setup. I'm looking into a way to keep the video feed going but in the meantime refresh to see an updated view.- Problems with webcam?

Fixes bit it may be intermittent over the next few days.- Netherton/Nedderton old photos 2

Netherton and Nedderton are two separate areas that are very close to each other (at least currently). There may have been some changes in how each were called over the years but I'm sure the historians on here can say if that's the case. If you zoom in on the present day Google maps you'll see the area I marked above is labeled as Netherton- Problems with webcam?
