  1. Amazing what you think about when clearing the attic. I think a Newcastle footballer advertised them long before Gary Linaker and Walkers crisps. I wonder what this generation will invent or make popular. One questions 'Are Gregg's still selling their version of Cornish Pasties' This week in Birmingham they claimed they had stopped production. I guess I should have put this in a different section but 'Tudor' crisps , I could argue, are history. Hopefully not so for Gregg's Pasties.
  2. I wonder if anyone remembers this brand of Jeans.
  3. All very good but in simple terms if you are negative about a negative surely you have a positive. Basically you are critical of the negative. Interesting argument.
  4. The main point is what have we got to loose. Negative opinions could get us action. Therefore a positive. Bedlington past present and future. The future has to be better. The past can be an inspiration. Then the present forgotten with all negativity Do not think we can get a bigger negative than the state of our town Malcolm. Bedlington needs action. Ok mercuryg its two minus' make a poitive but whatever it takes we need everyone in their own sweet way working for the town. Even the people who tell us not to be negative, all need to help. October let us hope changes everything for the better.
  5. That's the one Eggy. People want change so much they believe it will happen. Unfortunately Nowt happens. The moral is hope but not too much.
  6. That's the one I was shown a picture of what it should look like when finished. Supposedly the plans have been agreed. NCC should give details if it is correct. Looks like lots of flats but maybe not. Who knows what we will get in Bedlington! Plans can be agreed but development does not necessarily go ahead . We need someone in Bedlington to coordinate the exact details. No confusion and no speculation . Who do you believe about what is planned! Maybe we have to trust our leaders. That has not got us too far .
  7. On the plans it says Old School! Whose counting birthdays? Just 'rage against the dying of the light'
  8. Whitley Memorial and plans for flats. I have no idea where they will all park but the computer generated picture makes it look good. More housing for Bedlington but will it be affordable!
  9. A dangerous life Vic.
  10. On the new plans where are people going to park? I have not seen the full plans.

In the style of Bedlington for nailers Hartley Pans for sailors. We could have Bedlington for houses Any town for more! Can anyone think of a better rhyme. We have several noteworthy individuals on site.
  12. I had forgotten about that expression Paul. Maybe I have been a 'clot'. Never could stand 'tripe'. A delicacy in Lancashire I am led to believe.
  13. We may need to remember that two negatives make a positive.

My fear is that people are being bullied into keeping quiet. Do as I say not as I do. While complaining about misinformation and negativity the real issues are forgotten . Basically a smokescreen to hide behind. The letter is alarming while seeming to be positive .No money tree at the bottom of the High Street seems to suggest there will not be much delivered by our leaders at the NCC. October when we are to receive 'Good News' may be too late. Bedlington for houses and extra council tax. A high street of houses when the Council Offices are knocked down. I wonder how many houses they could deliver for us on the Tesco site. Shopping out of town next to Morrisons with no transport for the elderly. No pull off for the buses so none can stop. Library converted to retail unit Pharmacy! Surely they will listen to reason and not bully everyone. We all learn from history but that history can and is often negative and horrible . Horrible History in Bedlington a lesson to learn. Leaders can become delusional and need our help!
  15. There is The History Press HPW but I am not too sure how safe any of these are for your personal and valuable memories of mining. Your ability to relate the details of life underground are unique in their insight and detail. First hand accounts are always the best.
  16. No tomtom stay and make a noise. Nothing to loose.
  17. I agree HPW.good reading.
  18. Aye HPW That will be all they need to work the computer. Mind I use the one finger approach. I should have stuck at those typing lessons. When they started to play music 'tea for two cha cha' they lost me completely.
  19. Heritage initiative threegee. Gan Canny The Shoreham news was terrible.

There is also news about Blyth Foxy. Huge investment at Poundstretchers I think that may be the old Coop building. That's in Ronnie Campbell's Window on Westminster column page 14 NPL last week. The figures of investment and pay back in rent are interesting to calculate. Some people claim there is a wealth of mis information without explaining where error lies. This article claims the progress is labour lead and Arch will invest £1.476m Then The Heritage Initiative is mentioned , surely that means funding from that group. Not exactly clear. My fear for Bedlington is that the powers that be leave a note saying 'No Money Left' Then our kids and grandchildren end up paying forever.
  21. Could this be seen as moaning or being negative.
  22. It really needs action before it is too late. If the wall falls it could make the national news and highlight the problems in Bedlington. I hope no one dies if / when the wall and school fall into the main road.
  23. Snap Foxy I have posted on the wrong thread. A little late but shocked the paper did not cover the event.
  24. I cannot find any coverage of the Bedlington Fair in the News Post Leader this week. Last week the 20th August there was ,on page 40, a small article along side the advert for the fair. Surely someone from the paper came along after all there were so many people that attended. No photo opportunity for leading politicians who enjoy the limelight .
  25. Ronnie Campbell is supporting Jeremy Corbyn. Letters page News Post Leader. He says 'the Tory media is slagging him off ' ' If you want straight- talking, honest politics, then Jeremy Corbyn is the person to go with.' Enough said !
