  1. I did think our entry was too bad. As trends in music go, it was what a lot of people here are listening to.
  2. Oops Just maybe a Freudian Slip!
  3. Edible Kippers. Seahouses smoked. Looking at the Morpeth Neighbourhood Plan is interesting. All outlying areas are included. It has been in the making for a few years . I wonder if our council tax is helping to make the plan possible.
  4. Exactly my thoughts Vic. He represents Labour and just maybe feels the need to justify the labour response to Bedlington. Basically no action needed, money spent. This protest is not going away! Today people were around the market place talking and socialising. Given the lack of shops, it was great to see. Mind we were heading to North Shields for Kippers. I did wave at the camera. Thanks to Canny Lass we are watching Eurovision with Kippers followed by Strawberries! Too much information perhaps!!!
  5. Everyone has a right to an opinion but the way forward is what can be done to change things . No negativity! The future is working together and not looking at details of why things have not been done!
  6. We need change threegee but at the moment we have to trust everyone will work together. There are too many politicians in our town justifying no action. Attack being the best method of defence.
  7. Agreed Symptoms! Unfortunately I cannot say :- Je suis Maggie' without changing my name or Je ne suis pas Le Maggie' Not sure if the French is correct. I could blame Mr Stafford Westridge but I guess I did not see much point in concentrating. I did not anticipate travelling too far from home
  8. Bloody Hell I am watching last nights programme. 'Eurovision at 60' History pure and simple , a great programme! May even have to watch tonight!
  9. Very interesting Vic. Question is Who wrote the letter and Why? Everyone can use statistics and in this case the basic duties of the local authority to justify why no more money should be invested in Beflington. This guy needs to come and justify his assertions in Bedlington. My guess is quite a few people are worried by the present interest in Bedlington. No one shopping here is down to the lack of viable and relevant shops. Give us the shops and things will change! Who wants to fight for a parking space at Cramlington or Morpeth!
  10. We saw him about 1998 . Even then there appeared to be a doc at the side of the stage. Fantastic music, great voice.
  11. The Headline in the Journal today is that ' rural voices will be heard'. Rory Stewart MP for Penrith who is a minister in the Department of Environment Food and Rural Affairs has said :- 'I live and breath rural communities. I am very much a believer in working to get more influence to those communities , whether it is parish councils , trusts or community groups'.

    Toilets

I like Melanie Hurst suggestions that town councillors could open and close the toilets on a daily basis. Obviously only till something is sorted out . Maybe the county councillors should take part to concentrate their minds on an action an for our town. Morpeth the car park near the library, it is worth checking out their toilet block. Just for an idea about what we could or should have here!
  13. I love the original post. The meaning of Lidl/ Life. The rest of the thread goes a little obscure. Perhaps that's a good thing .
  14. Do you think it worth watching? I gave up years ago.
  15. The core strategy and a neighbourhood plan are being looked at carefully by the 'Make a Noise Group' Anyone with any expertise in planning and all matters related is /are needed. So far Bedlington has lost out. Maybe this is the time for everyone to help.
  16. How did you guess. Although maybe I should just try harder .
  17. If Bedlington had a Bishops Hall or Palace consider that the place had some importance. In Hereford the Bishops Palace has very similar looking surrounding walls.
  18. Depends what you mean Palance. All welcome I assume, no need to sign in. The Nomad or any Nomad would be welcome but on the bill would be a little tricky maybe. Certainly at any comedy venue never sit near the front. Anyone can be on the bill!
  19. Next Tuesday at the Netherton Club there is a comedy show. punchdrunkcomedy.co.uk Next Tuesday 19th at the Netherton Club. Easy to get tickets just phone or text 07738663379 Pay on the night. They reserve the tickets for you . It would be great to see Bedlington on the comedy map. Kai Humphries from Blyth is the host. Make a noise and laugh in Bedlington. Maybe just what is needed.
  20. Very similar sentiment to The Radio 4 Dead Ringers. They phone to congratulate and Dave gives all the reasons why he did not expect to be re elected. He had a very different life style in mind.
  21. Great to keep that sense of humour!
  22. That's a cheery little thought Symptoms. Wonder what would be left to prove we existed. After all 100 years dead and we are forgotten. Even the most elaborate gravestones can be gone without trace. Sometimes recycled into pathways and cut to size. Like our very selves. Just as well we know that 'It's better to burn out than to fade away'.
  23. Perhaps this may be relevant. Hope not
  24. Monday 18th the History Society is a talk on a Victorian Panorama by Allan Morgan. 7:30 Coffin Chapel.
  25. It is my belief that Malcolm is the new Mayor of West Bedlington Vic.
